Wood duck painting was acquired by a private collector. This painting is a close up of a male and female Wood Duck. This painting was done for the national duck stamp contest. This painting required specific attention to detail to capture the colors and details of this particular duck species. I chose to paint both the male and female and demonstrate the distinctive differences in color and size. I placed well in the competition but I was not chosen as the over all winner. It was a great experience as all submissions were displayed in Washington DC.
